I had the opportunity to do a 3-month intership as a Site manager for the Rehabilitation of a private school near Paris. This was an incredible experience. Beyond all the technical aspects that I was able to learn, this adventure was above all a human adventure. I had the opportunity to : • Manage and monitor building’s teams work (demolition, structural work, specialty trade) quantifier • Monitor building’s standards (PRM: Person with reduced mobility, FSS: Fire Safety System, Asbestos and Lead issues) quantifier • Manage site's life (monitoring of algeco), • Organize Site's meetings On a more technical aspect, I had the occasion to work on : - The technical design of building (supervising and checking work), - Plannings (site planning), - Methodology (monitoring of several hundred OPR), - Design working plans (demolition, Pre-wall, carcass, secondary trades...) - Develop an excels’ algorithm to manage the building team’s life on site to optimize site managers’ time, realization of constructions’ quantifier I loved being able to satisfy my curiosity (I even built a cinder block wall with my own hands next to one of the masons). This experience also taught me how to work independently, how to find quick solutions to problems and how to move forward when all the data is not fixed (especially in the rehabilitation parts which hid many bad surprises). During my first year at ESTP, I had the opportunity to do a two-month internship at Bouygues Immobilier in the Urban Era agency. It was my first experience in the building industry. Although we had studied many aspects of the building construction, I didn't really know how it worked in practice. So here I am on a huge building site: the site of the new district of Nanterre Coeur Université! In addition to giving me a first glimpse of the design and monitoring of the work on a building, I had the opportunity to : - Participate in meetings and briefings on current Real Estate Development operations within UrbanEra - Studying aspects of building legislation (analysis of customer contracts), - Participate in training days (PMR, Acoustics) - To learn building technology, to be able to check whether the work is in accordance with the contract. - Manage the work teams during the OPR phase (Operations Prior to Acceptance) - Participate in the Receipt of a batch - Organize the "visites cloisons"v(first visits by the client to the apartments, after sale on plan) with the Customer Manager. It was a very rich experience and gave me a lot of guidance. Step by step, I had the opportunity to take on more and more responsibilities despite my lack of experience, especially when managing 14 clients' visits ("visites cloisons") on my own! This first immersion in the world of building had therefore aroused my curiosity. If the world of construction and public works was so huge and the stakeholders so numerous, where was my place?
