I had the opportunity to work with Amelia on the renovation of a turn of the century home in the Historic District of Grand Rapids, Michigan built in 1855. Amelia had a keen sense of what to do to not only keep it true to the time frame, but also give it a fresh look. She was a tremendous collaborator with the kitchen layout, cabinetry, surface materials, and overall color scheme. She also was instrumental in the bathroom design, especially the layout for the master where she took space and repurposed it to make a completely new layout. Amelia's keen sense enabled her to fashion the bathrooms back to back for efficiency of space and a common plumbing chase. Amelia was also a great influencer on the overall layout of furniture and the color scheme for the total building. I should mention that the building was a single family home that was converted to four apartments after WWII. We transformed it to 3 magnificent apartments with the main floor being the owner's suite. I would encourage anyone to utilize Amelia for your project. She is an enormous talent with a tremendous skill set. I look forward to another occasion in the future.
