  Utah Program for Inherited Neuromuscular Disorders. Conduct consultations with neuromuscular patients that include strength, mobility and functional assessments to evaluate the need for physical therapy treatment or to show efficacy of medical treatment. Instruct patients and family members on the benefits of rehabilitation and exercise as conjunctive therapies and how to perform prescribed exercises safely. Coordinate recommendations for orthotics, wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment. Additionally, serve as a clinical evaluator on a variety of clinical trails and natural history studies. Assess baseline function and potential changes in disease progression or with intervention in a research participant’s strength, motor function, respiratory function, and other developmental milestones that may be attributed to the effects of a potential therapeutic.
