I am responsible for the management of the school’s fundraising program, including unrestricted and restricted operating, endowment and capital support from corporations, foundations, individuals and public agencies. Settlement Music School, the largest community-based arts school in the United States, is a founding member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education. Settlement has served more than 300,000 students since its inception in 1908. With upwards of 300 degreed faculty and staff, Settlement is one of the largest employers of musicians in the tri-state area. It provides 10,000 weekly services of individual lessons, classes and activities in music, dance and visual arts to children and adults from every ZIP code in the eight-county Philadelphia region. Settlement’s branches can be found in South, West and Northeast Philadelphia, Germantown, Willow Grove and Camden. Among its many programs is the nationally recognized, award-winning Kaleidoscope Preschool, which prepares Head Start-qualified children for kindergarten using an arts-integrated, school-readiness curriculum. Settlement Music School awards more than $2 million annually in scholarships and financial aid. Show less
