Amelia worked with me for her Internship 2015/2016 with the O2 Telefonica Business Sales team. As a dedicated resource to help support Churn reduction across both the mobile and Digital base Amelia undertook a multitude of tasks from reviewing data and presenting back viable opportunities for the Business to improve its churn number to Building People plans which incorporate both behavioral initiatives and customer centric engagement models. Whilst working with me Amelia was reliable, demonstrated her ability to focus on the task in hand and was extremely efficient despite working remotely. A good addition to any team, Amelia will bring a new, fresh and confident approach.

It’s rare to find someone like Amelia. Amelia expertly fills the role of Senior Copywriter for Adbike, and is always capable of writing interesting and informative articles which match our blogging aims. Amelia is able to easily connect different ideas and place context around them. She has a very natural writing style which always ends in interesting and engaging articles. She is also highly creative and able to come up with great lines for out social media, which need to be short and snappy. Amelia is always willing to help no matter what time it is or day of the week and always responds to requests very promptly. I would highly recommend Amelia who would be an asset to any organisation.

Using Design Thinking Methodology I support SME's in rural communities to develop ideas into new products or services. I also design and deliver Innovation Challenges which bring together a wide variety of stakeholders to look at larger themes and problems, who then are supported to design innovative solutions to these problems. I create bespoke workshops to support impactful new product/service development. Using Design Thinking Methodology I support SME's in rural communities to develop ideas into new products or services. I was the module leader for two entrepreneurial development undergraduate modules underpinned by design thinking methodology which focused on new product/service design. I also partnered with other academics to design innovation modules and I was responsible for designing and delivering extra-curricular Innovation Challenges open to students from a wide range of academic disciplines which included hackathons and bootcamps.

I worked within the START UP team at Newcastle University supporting students and recent graduates to develop their early stage start-up ideas. My work aimed to ensure that all students viewed self-employment as a viable career path post university. One of my key responsibilities was 121 coaching conversations with students to help them identify their next steps to prove their concepts and develop their early stage ideas into viable products/services. I also designed and delivered teaching activities to upskill students interested in working for themselves – e.g proactive idea generation workshops. I further supported other team members with their session creation / delivery and had a wide range of marketing responsibilities. Show less

This role was with START UP which is the enterprise and entrepreneurship section of Newcastle University's Careers Service. My key responsibilities included organising monthly networking events, championing the START UP support and promoting it across campus and organising competitions to help increase students enterprise skills. I further supported other entrepreneurial networks within the university such as the Entrepreneur Society and the Career Service enterprise modules. I helped students in hackathons for these modules and arranged events in collaboration with the Entrepreneur Society. I was also in charge of the content creation and management of our social media channels and successfully launched a new blog. Show less

My role at O2 - Telefonica involved me being a crucial team member in the world of SOHO Churn. Here I worked on a variety of projects which all aimed to help the sales teams form stronger team bonds and action more successful sales and retention techniques. My notable achievements here were the facilitation of group coaching sessions to help agents handle persistent loss reason conversations and my creation of a new customer service competency to help agents make significant progress on their service style over time. I also created a range of seasonal incentives for the teams in order to boost team moral. Show less

I was selected to carry out academic research on behalf of a Senior Lecturer of Newcastle University, alongside studying. This research was in order to contribute to a paper the lecturer was intending to write for a prestigious academic journal. The research was concerned with gender equality at university and in order to carry out the research I created a specialised set of questions which needed to be both fact finding and sensitive due to the nature of the topic I was researching. I conducted interviews with the target audience for the research and transferred the oral data into qualitative results. Show less

As part of my time studying at Newcastle I was presented with the opportunity to start a business through Young Enterprise. I started an interior decor business which made highly realistic hand-crafted stag heads and aimed to present an ethical alternative to hunting for decorative purposes. This business was started by myself and four other Newcastle University Business School students, each bringing own our diverse skills and talents to the business. As well as being a Co-Founder of Wild Heads and ensuring the day to day running of the business was managed and ran smoothly I was also Head of Sales. This meant that I was responsible for pitches and securing pre-sales as our product was pre-launch for much of the academic year. I was also jointly responsible for the production of a successful crowdfunding campaign. Wild Heads was put forward to take part in Young Enterprises' 2015 Start Up Business Competition and won both ‘Best Overall Business’ and ‘Best Business Proposal’ in the North East Regional Finals. After great success at this heat we then attended the National Finals at Manchester Concorde, where we were able to pitch our business proposal to many senior figures in UK Business and gained a great networking experience.
