Research Associate
-
Jan 2022 - Sep 2022
I worked as a Research Associate at Octagon Therapeutics for my second co-op as a Northeastern undergraduate. The company has hypothesized a novel pathway that activates B cells during autoimmune disease flares. With Octagon, I worked on research and development of therapeutic treatments that could prevent this B cell activation and help those suffering from autoimmune diseases without using traditional immunosuppressive treatments. This primarily consisted of purifying proteins thought to mediate B cell activation, as well as validating B cell activation through cell-based assays.

I self developed my first undergraduate co-op as a Research Assistant at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, specifically in the Wang Lab. The lab's research consists of identifying epigenetic mechanism expression linked to various neurological disorders using PET-MRI for human and animal studies. There, I assisted with PET-MRI scans and conducted data analysis of the scans. Undergraduate Research Assistant
-
Jan 2020 - Apr 2020
I was a research assistant at the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health, a lab at Northeastern University that encompasses a variety of research endeavors. One of my main roles fell within IGNITE, which is a nationwide study that analyzes the effects of exercise on cognition in senior citizens over a year-long intervention program. I oversaw exercise interventions and documented data that would later be analyzed. Other roles of mine included testing the effects of acute physical stressors, such as exercise, on cognition in children and young adult participants.
