I have had the privilege to lead the initiative to become the first and only company to maintain four Five-Star awards in one location from Forbes Travel Guide for seven consecutive years … seven years which included a bankruptcy, sale, and restructuring of our company to one of the most successful and recognized in the industry. I have enhanced organizational performance through establishing an internal audit program as a Director of Training, and have increased participation annually since its beginning three years ago. I work closely with many talented team members at Sea Island to integrate the Five-Star standards throughout every department in the company to carry on our 86+ year legacy of gracious hospitality.I lead a team consisting of a Training & Development Manager and Quality Manager who work with me to provide training to our line-level team members beginning on Day One, and continuing through leadership development. I’ve also had the privilege to assist our new Director of HR to codify company value definitions and behaviors, revise the policy handbook, and plan a two-day leadership event complete with multiple external keynote speakers, an Amazing Race style activity and 15 segments to unify our leadership team. I worked with operational leaders to unite all 90+ departments and 1500+ employees company-wide in the Five-Star initiative by implementing regular Five-Star training classes with a 97% attendance rate. I also developed and executed customized training sessions for executive and line-level staff to enhance the guest experience and improve the internal service culture. I created and managed the position for a Training & Development Specialist beginning in the Fall of 2010.

I developed, conducted, and tracked training classes for new and existing employees including orientation. I also produced, edited, and distributed the daily communication document for the company.
