  I work with the Center for Integrated Access Networks, an NSF-funded Engineering Research Center. The University of Arizona is the lead institution for 9 other universities (UCSD, Columbia, UCLA, CalTech, Cornell, Tuskegee, NSU, USC, Berkeley) with the research goal to create transformative optical technologies to enable an affordable faster internet for the future. My role in CIAN is to organize all 10 universities' education and outreach programs, specifically pre-college among other responsibilities. Show less

  I oversaw the University of Arkansas Honors College Blog and Facebook. I also helped with the original design of the blog and development of the topics and direction of the articles in the blog. For example, I developed the first "5 Questions" blog post interview features. Communicate with and about students in the honors college. While the Editorial Assistant I also suggested and oversaw the presentation of "The City Dark" documentary showing and related events (see page 8-10 of the A+ Magazine found here: http://honorscollege.uark.edu/A_MAG_2012.pdf). This showing of the documentary had the largest attendance of any "The City Dark" showing yet, at 600 attendees. I also helped bring Ian Cheney, the filmmaker and Dr. Constance Walker, the creator and director of the citizen science campaign "Globe at Night." Show less
