  In this role, I am responsible for preparing 48-hour and 7-day forecasts, organizing and creating weather graphics using IBM WSI MAX, and delivering an informative, compelling weather story. I have also performed various live shots using a LiveU pack alongside producing 2-3 minute on-air forecasts in the Moore Hall Television (MHTV) studio twice a week for the Mid-Michigan region. Additionally, I assisted with building graphics remotely and delivering the forecast via Facebook Live during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team that produced this remote newscast received a first-place award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasting for the title “Best Pandemic Production”.

  In this position, I helped teach students how to effectively communicate the forecast, organize graphics using IBM WSI MAX to present a weather story, and write scientific news stories. I also assisted students in setting up hardware and software in CMU's broadcast meteorology practice studio outside of class hours for students to practice communicating the weather using a chroma-key wall and professional weather graphics.
