La Jolla, CA In collaboration with Dr. David Sandwell, constructed the virtual seafloor found in Google Earth by collecting, analyzing and editing multibeam bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data from Japanese research vessels (JAMSTEC) and NOAA's National Geophysics Data Center (NGDC). The virtual seafloor in Google Earth is in detail up to several tens of kilometers below the sea surface.
