It is my pleasure to recommend Amber Mace. I have known Amber for almost ten years, having served as Chairman of the Board while she was Executive Director of the California Ocean Science Trust and later serving on her Science Advisory Panel when she was Executive Director for the California Ocean Protection Council. In both of those capacities, I have found her to be an outstanding manager with an exceptional gift for communication and policy development. She quickly diagnoses underlying issues and advances creative, tractable solutions She excels at facilitating collaborative decision-making, finding ways to build the scientific consensus necessary for effective management action. Dr. Mace has also demonstrated an uncommon capacity for developing partnerships, recognizing the strengths of others and using those abilities to create superior products.
