I worked with RAINN's Department of Defense SafeHelpline offering crisis intervention and support to victims of sexual assault in the DoD community. I was trained in crisis intervention skills and how to work with survivors of varying types of sexual assault with an emphasis in military survivors. I answered phone calls and take online chats to assist this community when they need support, information about sexual assault, or referred to resources to help them in their recovery process. In January of 2020, I was promoted to an Assistant Shift Manager position in which I supervised chats and calls of other hotline staff and provided support and feedback in the moment to ensure quality care for visitors.
