Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan Area I truly enjoyed the collaborative environment of this company. I sold machines that ranged from 15 to 50 pages per minute. I had an opportunity to train new recruits with the company. It was also great to sell one line of machines. I worked with a team of individuals to create a positive experience for our customers.

I sold copiers. It sounds easy, but it is not. First, I had to convince receptionists to let me speak to their boss. I was a receptionist in college and I was very difficult to get past and so were the people that I encountered. Next I had to convince the boss to meet with me, provide me information about their current costs, and convince them that my product was better, and I had to do this with three different lines; Toshiba, Konica Minolta and Xerox. Being creative, honest and hardworking helped, but so did my persistent nature. Show less

I put out fires. Every day I had requests to cancel services, customers upset because they were missed, clients that weren't paying their bill and were about to be put on suspension and I worked to fix all of these issues. More often than not, I did this with humor and empathy. And if that didn't work I still carried on. In my time with Allied Waste, I consistently ranked third in the nation for account retention. More often than not, I did this with humor and empathy. And if that didn't work I still carried on. In my time with Allied Waste, I consistently ranked third in the nation for account retention. What that means in numbers is that I retained nearly 85% of commercial waste and recycling customers, increased revenue by 20% of current services, signed over 500 new service agreements per year, and collected 90% of debt management that was assigned to me, and provided an average of 30 new account leads each year. Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan Area I helped people go on vacation. We had several tours to Europe and I worked with travel agents throughout the South. I would travel to their towns and host events to encourage their clients to take our tours. I recruited new agents, worked with their local newspapers (it was the early 2000's) on print ads, managed the receipt of invoices for ads, and trained the agents in how to sell our tours. Didn't hurt that I just had to go to Europe as part of the job either. Show less
