WILL Interactive is a pioneer and industry leader in using the power of stories to solve the toughest training and behavioral challenges. Over the past three years, I’ve worked as a writer on seven feature-length interactive films (some favorites include JROTC LIFE SKILLS LIBRARY and A BRIGHTER TOMORROW). Collectively, these films have garnered eight awards including three Gold Horizon Interactive Awards and two Communicator Awards. In addition to screenwriting, I’ve written copy for social media and email marketing campaigns, produced facilitator guides and one-pagers for instructors, and performed 508-compliant captioning for selected products. WILL’s small size allowed me to wear multiple hats. I’ve organized and facilitated casting for several films, negotiated fees and contracts, and liaised between the director, the actors, and their agents. Gathering records of auditions spanning two decades, I built a database of over 500 actors and actresses. With a bustling production slate, I learned how to record, edit, and mix audio for several interactive, animated graphic novels. And lastly, I learned Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for an animated project and began to storyboard within a month.

NSLC/DWC Site Director
-
Jan 2019 - Sep 2019
Discover the World of Communication (DWC) is a pre-college program where high school students learn to build a digital portfolio, script, shoot and edit a film, write news stories, and entertain. My time at DWC began in 2018 as a Teaching Assistant for documentary filmmaking and animation courses. Several months later, my role expanded to the co-director of DWC’s debut film festival and NSLC/DWC Site Director.

Founded by award-winning filmmaker Andrea Kalin, Spark Media produces documentary and digital storytelling that provokes, entertains, and inspires. During my summer there, I learned about impact-producing, devising opportunities for collective action related to suicide prevention. In response, I identified sponsors and partners for Scattering CJ (2019) screenings and developed an advisory board of subject matter experts. My colleagues and I attended AFSP's Out Of The Darkness Overnight Walk, where we filmed and edited a short recap. One of the highlights from my time at Spark Media was coordinating the inaugural “Celebration of Excellence” at the Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy. The event introduced students to the inspiring story of the school's namesake, featured in Spark Media's documentary Partners of the Heart (2005). Following a screening, students engaged in round table discussions with Thomas family members, physicians of color, historians, and the filmmakers.

Television Broadcast Production Assistant
-
Jan 2017 - Apr 2017
WETA is the leading public broadcasting station in the nation’s capital, providing educational, cultural, news, and public affairs programs and services. As a production assistant, I monitored the latest Washington-area news and conducted online research to identify potential show concepts. Using this information, I collaborated with my team to develop segments for WETA Arts, WETA Around Town, and Neighborhood Eats. Additionally, I created teleprompter copies for the WETA Around Town episodes accessible below. I also served as a production assistant on the sets of Washington in the 90s and Neighborhood Eats, supporting the producer and associate producers as needed, and running tapes between crews and editors.
