I was very fortunate to work with Amanda on a year+ project to design and develop a new custom application to support primary business operations. The project was daunting, and was going to require a lot of commitment from the business leadership. Amanda and the leadership team were more than up to the challenge, and it ended up being one of the most rewarding (and fun!) projects I have ever worked on. Amanda’s knowledge of the industry and of her own business operations enabled her to answer all questions I had in the design process – and to suggest a few questions I hadn’t thought of! The industry has some unique complexities that are hard to understand for anyone who is new to the industry. Amanda was able to use her vast industry knowledge and her communication skills to explain all the intricate details in a way I could easily understand. I am very grateful for her patience and willingness to explain (and re-explain!) complicated concepts until I finally understood. In addition to be an excellent collaborator in the design process, Amanda was an exceptional partner in the implementation and testing rollout. Her thoroughness and eagle-eyed attention to detail made sure that we eliminated any quality issues before they ever made it into production. While working on the project, I was also able to observe Amanda’s operational leadership in action. Her no-nonsense approach to dealing with problems directly, factually and effectively was a breath of fresh air. I was amazed at her abilities to switch between tactical business operations and strategic business planning. In additional to her business expertise, Amanda is also the resident tech guru, solving a wide variety of crazy hardware and software problems that came up. I came to believe that there was no problem – technical or operational - that could faze her! Besides Amanda’s experience and professional abilities, she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her sense of humor helped us get through many challenging obstacles on our way to delivering a very successful project.
