Experience

    • Nurse Aide
      • Aug 2016 - Present

My job is a very complex, fast-moving, and muti-task required job. I give out daily medication, interact with parents with injuries, and deal with an injury and sick or stressed-out students in the clinic. I have built the share drive for the district clinic offices with up-to-date protocols, state laws, CDC, tea requirements, school letters, and any other paperwork that needs to be shared within the clinics. I also control keeping the protocols and the clinic manuals up to the state regulations. I keep the clinics organized, in stock of supplies, and order supplies for the district clinics. I also stay in contact with the other clinic on any issues they need help with and work with them through the problem to solve them. Follow the Texas Required Vaccines schedule or affidavits for all 760 students in the two schools where I am the nurse. I have been able to work in the two years during the pandemic and handle contract tracing on every positive case that we required, do state reporting and COVID testing for the district students and teachers, and keep track of everyone in the district return dates and exposure dates. Understand the vaccine requirements, how to work Immtrac, ASCENDER, Google drives, shares, and primary computer and clinical skills. Working in a fast past, constantly changing, the challenging, and problem-solving environment has become the norm for me, and I have enjoyed it. I started this job as a sub in the clinic over five years ago. The two schools I work at start with Pre-k3 to 5th graders. Working with an influential age group of students has been a wonderful experience and an excellent learning experience. While working full time, I attend college to earn my Associate in science degree. I am certified in hearing and vision screening, spinal screening, and American Red Cross trainer for the district.
