My main job was to work on a new ice cream stand set up for the summer months. I was responsible for manning this stand alone; interacting with customers, working with money, cleaning, opening and closing the stand, and serving ice cream. When required, I would also work on the shop floor, my main roles were to work on the tills, keep the shop floor clean and organised, help customers find products and restock items. This internship was part of my Arkwright Scholarship. I worked with the different departments and learnt about what they do and the different roles of everyone in the team. I used the experience to learn about the different types of engineering and what they do in a working environment, in addition to understanding what it is like to be part of a team working in an office.
