Bio
Keziah DeFusco
Amanda Lamadanie is an outstanding Course Writer at TNTP. Her work is high quality, clear, and always has a strong sense of the perspective and experience of course participants. Amanda is focused on creating meaningful and engaging online certification modules for new teachers and consistently wants to know how to elevate the quality of our coursework. Amanda situates course content within an equity narrative by weaving culturally responsive-sustaining education theory throughout our learning modules. Her thoughtfulness, creativity, and responsiveness are critical strengths that make our project team successful. She is also flexible, which is so important as we respond to changing client needs throughout the course development process. Amanda’s work exceeds expectations for every project that I have been fortunate enough to work with her on; I highly recommend her!
Ameer Kim El-Mallawany
For someone with so many of the natural traits of a master teacher, Amanda’s most remarkable quality is her relentless drive and commitment to her own individual growth. In my two years working with her, I frequently found Amanda to be the last one left in the building, working diligently to perfect her next lesson. But Amanda has the wisdom to know that her excellence as an educator is a function of much more than the planning she puts into her daily work. I was also able to bear witness to Amanda expanding her repertoire of literature with constant reading, engaging in action research alongside our university colleagues at Cleveland State, and most importantly, pouring herself into her relationships with students. But Amanda’s pursuit of her best self is not limited only to her professional life, and her authenticity in the classroom stems in part from her willingness to share her personal passions with her students in a way that enriches their experience as learners. Students in our action research courses have been deeply impacted by her experience as an activist, and her commitment to her own creative writing has brought opportunities for students to learn alongside her in novel writing initiatives and poetry and journalism clubs.
