   Design/redesign course structure and content of mathematics courses for face-to-face, online, and dual enrollment courses including Trigonometry, Nature of Mathematics, College Algebra, and Applied Algebra.  Create departmental course assessments, PowerPoint lecture presentations, and educational supplements. Implement software components to provide students with online resources and unlimited practice problems while tracking their progress and performance.  Develop original content for College Algebra/Trigonometry and Applied Algebra for College Students textbooks to generate revenue for the mathematics department. Track course design changes and performance statistics and report to the administration. Devise policies to gauge and solidify student understanding including incorporation of clicker technology/daily assessments and requirement that students spend time in ULM’s Mathematics Resource Center. Incorporate active learning strategies to engage students and make the mathematics relevant and current. Design course websites to serve as an information source for students, set departmental course schedules, and prepare departmental course syllabi. Teach a minimum of thirty semester hours per academic year of face-to-face, online, and dual enrollment mathematics courses.  Courses taught: Calculus I, Elementary Statistics, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Nature of Mathematics, College Algebra, Applied Algebra for College Students, Developmental Algebra, Applied Algebra Recitation.

   Instructed annual intensive summer institutes, some with follow-up days throughout the school year, for elementary and middle school mathematics teachers in Monroe City Schools, Ouachita Parish Schools, Richland Parish Schools, and other private/charter schools in Louisiana. Highlighted best practices in implementation of the Eureka Math curriculum emphasizing module/topic/lesson organization, preparation and pacing, remediation, and rich assessment design. Focused on how the Eureka Math curriculum develops concepts from grade to grade through conceptual building and problem-solving and modeled sample Eureka Math lessons and activities for multiple grade levels. Introduced models such as tape diagrams and double number lines, fluency activities such as sprints and rapid white board exchanges, and ways to use exit tickets through self-assessment and other educational strategies. Presented original activities, games, and real-world applications to improve areas of weakness for these school districts with specific focus on Louisiana State Student Standards/Common Core State Standards and the Standards for Mathematical Practice.  Created engaging lessons aimed to enhance teachers’ mathematics content knowledge, educational pedagogy, and appropriate technology application. Detailed the benefits of the Common Core State Standards and the state’s transition from Louisiana Grade Level Expectations.  Improved mathematics content knowledge in geometry, measurement, patterns, functions, algebra, number sense, data analysis, statistics, probability, and problem-solving by sharing activities designed to span grade levels that could be adapted to use in the classroom.
