  Service industries is a large diverse Department in the College which offers an exciting range of programmes to prepare young people and adults for working in their chosen sector to include Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Complimentary Therapies, Theatrical & Media Make-up, Nail Services, Hospitality, Catering and Tourism, Air Cabin Crew, Airport Operations , Uniformed Services , Outdoor Pursuits, Gym Based Fitness & Personal Training, Animal Care & Management, Floristry and Horticulture.I am proud and excited to be able to lead this Team to provide an outstanding experience for our students and support my team to develop their own teaching practices, encourage personal aspiration and work collaboratively together.

  I am responsible for leading and managing FE provision for Travel and Tourism including Cabin Crew and Aviation Ground Operations, Animal Care / Management, Horticulture and Floristry, Public Services ,Health , Fitness and Personal Training, Outdoor Sport and Adventure . The provision is based across three of the College sites within the City. My focus is to ensure that all learners have a an enjoyable and successful learning experience to support their progression into employment.

• Curriculum Leader for Hairdressing (Adult and Commercial Provision)

  I am responsible for the Hairdressing provision for Adults ( Level 1 to 3 ) and the Commercial Salon Operation in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy across all of our sites.This includes the management of the Hair and Beauty salons to ensure the resources and equipment support the Curriculum to enable our learners to be prepared for Industry.I have also rebranded the Salons to reflect a commercial and modern training environment and worked very closely with our suppliers to ensure that products and services we offer are in line with the industry to support the training needs of the students.

  Managed the AD Centre for H & B, part of SVL Observation Team, Cross College Quality Improvement, IQA across sites.Hair & media make up L2 was a new qualification to COBC that I proposed and I was involved in setting up the specialist rooms and growing the programme across two sites.This also included the growth of L3 Theatrical & Media make up to another site as well.
