As a part time teacher I work with students in small groups to refine and concentrate on areas they struggle with, these subjects mostly include math, reading and writing. I am responsible for documentation of the student's progress, while maintain communication with the teachers and parents I work with. Along with small groups I also focus on students who need RTI (response to intervention). As an ASC monitor I watch over a Kindergarten class, it is my responsibility to ensure safety while they are in my care. I try to make the time I have with them fun and exciting, we have made our own flubber, cards, kites, and ice cream sundaes. I have been working with AVID since I graduated in 2011 and have had watched my students grow into responsible, hard-working and determined individuals that strive to earn a college degree. As a tutor we work with 4-6 students at a time based on subject.
