Amanda is a caring teammate, fantastic communicator, and an efficient tester! Near the start of my engagement on the conversational AI project with Semantic Machines, I had the pleasure of working with Amanda directly in a special task group. Her level of care for each of her teammates immediately shone through as she was particularly mindful of when someone might need encouragement, reaching out to provide it without needing any prompting. Collaborating with her was a joy, as she trained on this task very thoroughly, and she proved great at delegating work across time zones with a remotely connected team. Amanda is great at dealing with change, as our project was in a near constant state of change, but through it she excelled and earned a spot as one of the Quality Assurance (QA) Leads. After becoming QA certified, I once more had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Amanda. In this capacity, she was very proactive at communicating with the rest of the team, keeping everyone informed and up-to-date. Additionally, for the tests that she handled herself, she was very efficient, quickly completing several in the time it would take another tester to complete just 1. Overall, Amanda is a collaborative team-player, flexible to roll with the punches, who is able to work efficiently and with focus in a full-time remote situation. Working with her has been an extremely positive experience and I know she'll do well on any team that is gifted with her presence!

Amanda is agile, efficient, and insightful. She and I were onboarded around the same time as remote A.I. Trainers for Semantic Machines, a group recently acquired by Microsoft at the time. Despite telecommunicating, the job constantly evolved since our initiation, requiring employees to change line of work at the drop of a dime. Time and time again she proved capable of shifting focus seamlessly and with ease. She takes pride in her work with diligence and commitment. Amanda and I worked side-by-side on multiple occasion – interviewing researchers and volunteers, learning multiple new skills on the job, and as leads in Quality Assurance. Within each role, she exemplified responsibility and sought to finish each task meticulously and until the end. Amanda has an exceptional ability to think outside the box, which makes her a natural problem solver. As a QA Lead, she optimized Regression Testing methods and procedures with more sensible solutions and efficient ideas - a product of her intelligence, passion and education in computer science and programming. Soft skills are vital to navigating interpersonal relationships, whether that’s online or face-to-face. Her ability to accommodate others, consideration of viewpoints outside of her own, and perceptive nature makes Amanda an extraordinary colleague to work alongside with through complex dilemmas. She leads and manages with the same discipline all while completing every task and puzzle thrown her way with precision.

A group-based, discussion-minded seminar for undergraduate students enrolled in the Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming course. Designed curriculum and tools to further the understanding and abilities of students enrolled in the seminar. Curated student engagement both on and offline and worked to create an environment that encouraged learning and team-building skills. Created a group dynamic encouraging out-of-the-box thinking and real-world applications of study. Students were encouraged to ask questions and engage in peer learning. Show less
