As an online writer for Rowdy Magazine, my responsibilities include pitching ideas for politics- and culture-centered articles at least twice per month, conducting appropriate research for each article and linking sources when necessary, and writing articles in a timely manner (at least two articles per semester).   The Avenue is the desk at The Independent Florida Alligator that is responsible for covering Gainesville's arts and culture. As a staff writer for the Avenue, I was tasked with writing stories (one to two per week) that featured local entertainment, profiled local artists and highlighted new businesses. For each piece, I sought out appropriate sources, conducted professional interviews and wrote in a timely manner.
