    • Radio Technician
      • 2006 - 2007

I was hired specifically due to my training in digital radio communications in the military. Stan's Communications was a Tait Radio representative and the counties surrounding Grand Forks, ND were awarded a portion of the Homeland Security budget in late 2006 in order to upgrade their E911 system to be compliant with the enhanced services available. Two other technicians and I wrote the programming databank for, programmed, and installed the new systems portable, and mobile units for the local Poloice, Fire, and EMS services vehicles and personnel. I also assisted in the programming and installation of repeater antennas and base station/repeaters that were installed in the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Stan's Communications tower site, and the adjacent Air Force base to allow seamless interoperability between the sites and some existing systems. We also provided paging services as well as tech support and advisement on alterations to the system throughout the changeover time period. Show less
