I had the pleasure of teaching Alyssa during Thinkful's Data Analytics Immersive program. Alyssa exceeded in Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python, and Pandas. Alyssa graduated with flying colors, which is no small feat given our comprehensive curriculum. It is a testament to her passion for data analytics. Her inquisitive approach also pushed Alyssa to learn past the curriculum and seek new tools to add to her wheelhouse of data analysis skills. Alyssa is a hard worker, very professional, and has a natural talent for presenting valuable data insights to her target audience. She tackles problems with patience and perseverance, which makes Alyssa an excellent teammate. Any prospective employer of Alyssa's will be lucky to have her on their team.

Working with Alyssa was amazing. Her attention to detail and and unwillingness to call a project complete until it was perfect was astounding. I worked with her on a raw data set project and she immediately took the lead and created a structured and guided environment. She easily navigated and corralled the data into something readable and easily digestable. Her SQL and excel skills are more than proficient. I would highly recommend her for any data driven project.

I worked and learned collaboratively with small teams and senior analysts to become an expert in Excel, SQL, data visualization, and Python. Using these tools, I created interactive models for business strategies and profit projections, as well as analysis presentations with recommendations for company growth. At Code to the Future, I wore many hats. While school was in session, I coached teachers and principals individually and in professional development sessions on strategies to roll out a coding curriculum that was designed to teach K-8 students foundational coding skills using Scratch, LEGO Mindstorms, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. During school breaks, I collaborated with colleagues to refine and develop new projects for our coding curriculum. This curriculum was used by 150 schools in 13 states across the nation. Starting in March, I also developed multimedia distance learning and COVID support resources for teachers and parents. Show less

As a part of the STEM academy at West Adams Prep High School, I integrated audio-visual editing software and Google Suite into the English curriculum with projects like creating a podcast, or a product pitch presentation. I also tracked data using ProgressBook to improve performance for 160 10th-12th grade students. I taught 120 high-needs, at-risk, diverse 6th grade students using restorative justice practices with an English curriculum focusing on diversity and inclusion with a social justice mindset. I also collaborated with the 6 other teachers in the English department to meet school-wide and departmental growth goals. While at Clay High School, I designed an updated English writing and literature curriculum for 8th-10th grade students that included works from more diverse authors as well as modern fiction and poetry. Additionally, I re-started and advised Panther News Network, a student-run news club that scripted, produced, and edited a daily morning news broadcast. Finally, I was the chair of the career day committee, which was in charge of scheduling speakers, monitoring students, and providing enrichment materials during the event. Show less
