      The Arc Georgia, a satellite office of The Arc of the United States, is a statewide nonprofit focused on the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with a mission of developing and sustaining true community inclusion for all.In my role as Director of Policy and Special Programs, I oversaw the policy department of The Arc Georgia, which included creating The Arc Georgia Disability Policy Digest, a weekly update regarding Georgia's legislative session; facilitating policy advocacy trainings with diverse organizations and groups; crafting policy one-pagers on disability-specific issues for advocates and policymakers; and presenting on disability policy at local, state, and federal events.In my role, I also successfully wrote and submitted state and federal grants and oversaw the management of numerous grant-funded projects.

      The Health Policy Leadership Fellowship is a multidisciplinary, postdoctoral fellowship developed to train postdoctoral professionals in health policy with the mission of achieving and advancing health equity for all.As a fellow, I engaged in policy trainings focused on health equity and presented on a variety of health-related topics to a diverse group of stakeholders, including leadership at CDC, Morehouse School of Medicine, and community members. I participated in leadership didactics and one-on-one leadership meetings with Dr. David Satcher (16th US Surgeon General and former CDC Director).I conducted research regarding the sexual and reproductive health of women with intellectual disabilities through a collaborative project with the Division of Reproductive Health and the Division of Human Development and Disability at CDC. The project lead to the creation of CDC's first-ever fact sheet on how medical providers can talk with their females patients with intellectual disabilities. The fact sheet can be found on the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities' website.I also completed Georgia's Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Related Disorders (LEND) Program as a component of the postdoctoral fellowship. The LEND Program is a multidisciplinary leadership program aimed at addressing and improving systems of care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

      During my clinical psychology postdoctoral fellowship, I coordinated full-day, interdisciplinary evaluations for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and administered numerous psychological assessments. I also participated in the Care Coordination Pilot Program, providing families with continuedsupport in accessing services for their children with developmental disabilities. I designed a research project collaborating with Indiana Department of Child Services, assessing barriers to services for children in foster care across the state of Indiana by surveying family case managers. The project culminated in the development of a summary of findings presented to the IndianaDepartment of Child Services.As a postdoctoral fellow, I also engaged federal and state policymakers on issues affecting children with developmental disabilities and attained advanced knowledge regarding disability and advocacy in the Indiana Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program.

      During my APA-accredited clinical psychology pre-doctoral internship, I acquired advanced infant mental health knowledge as a trainee in the multidisciplinary Harris Program for Infant Mental Health.As an intern, I provided treatment/evaluation services to young children and their caregivers in the fostercare system as a member of the Orleans Parish Permanency Infant Placement Team, which included consulting with a court team comprising of advocates, attorneys, and a judge. In addition, I conducted outpatient assessment and psychotherapy of infants and toddlers and/or theircaregivers and provided grant-funded psychotherapy services to elementary-aged children in a parishgreatly affected by Hurricane Katrina and the BP Oil Spill.
