I worked at Texas Steakhouse and Saloon for 4 years while attending college. I began working as a host, and within 2 years was promoted to busser, then food runner, server, and finally full time bartender. I was entrusted with a register and hundreds if dollars daily as I cashed guests out as well as made change for other employees. As a bartender, I was trusted with the safety and well being of every guest, and had to use my judgement to discern when guests had enough alcohol. I had to understand and uphold West Virginia state alcohol laws, and ensure other employees followed suit. I was also entursted with the cleanliness of the bar, making sure all cleaning tasks were completed and the bar remained up to health code. My biggest job was customer satisfaction. It was my most important goal to see that all guests were satisfied with their service, drinks, and food. If not, I would do whatever I could to rectify the situation. This is my favorite part of my job. I love talking to new people, making them laugh and treating them to a wonderful restaurant experience. I take great pride in my work and value myself as an asset to my company. I also had to be able to solve any issues my guests may have encountered in a professional and timely manner. Keeping my cool during stressful situations with guests is my specialty. Finally, I was in charge of opening and closing the bar on any given day, and training new bartenders.

During this time I created many promotional items for the University to use in the following years. I created items such as flyers, T-shirts, posters and other promotional material for the college to use for several years. I worked directly with Mr. Sulgit to produce eye catching and appropriate works for college age individuals. As a sales associate for Factory Connection, my duties included working the register, assisting guests with picking out and trying on clothing items, as well as promoting items and sales to customers, unboxing and preparing inventory as well as organizing the inventory on the sales floor, cleaning, stocking and closing the store, and answering phone calls. I loved this job as I got to spend time with people, learning about them as I would help them shop. I enjoy working with the public and have a very personable attitude.
