Worked with multiple types of animals such as the American Alligator, Moluccan Cockatoo, Blue and Gold Macaws, Desert Tortoise, Arachnids, African Bull Frog, Etc. Greeted guests in a friendly manner and sold them admission tickets. Answered questions about the park, animals, and opportunities that we offer. Opened the photo opportunity area where guests can take a picture with a gator or a snake. Ensured the enclosures are clean and sanitized. Catch an alligator daily for guests to interact. Created safe environment. Documented the day’s high and low temperature for the animal’s safety and health. Followed the daily enclosure cleaning schedule and inspected enclosures for additional cleaning opportunities. Performed water changes, occasional deep cleans and backwashes of the gator pools. Followed the posted diet calendar and prepared diets for all the park’s animals. Cleaned all the animal enclosure and did daily water bowl changes. Weighed the birds and relocated them to their outside habitat. Ensured the park was clean and ready to receive guests for the day. Carried and handled money for the retail store. Engage in enrichment activities for younger gators at the end of shift. Recorded behavioral, dietary, medical, training and enrichment details for each animal. Safely caught baby alligators (grunts) to roam the park with them to advertise the daily show known as Adventure Hour. Prepared chicken, pork, ground beef, or fish for feeding based on the dietary plan as well as internal supplies. Made general park announcements informing guests of the show. Entered the enclosure during the show and maintained a safe distance whilst feeding while simultaneously educating guests about the process and about the alligators. After the show, the guests are invited into the enclosure for Adventure Hour where they get to feed the gators themselves after being given a safety briefing. All training and feedings are accurately documented after the show.
