Alyssa has been employed at Maryland National Golf Club since the Spring of 2011. In her time at Maryland National, she has experienced every facet of the business, beginning with her experience running our food & beverage operation and expanding into golf, course maintenance, and sales. She currently applies her expertise of our course and Tavern as the Director of Sales & Marketing and as the Assistant General Manager. Her roles include the expansion of MNGC brand recognition through new and creative advertising, marketing, and networking; event planning of both golf outings and banquets; assisting the General Manager in his day-to-day activities; and general oversight of MNGC operations and staff. Moving up to the Assistant Food & Beverage Director position incorporated a large business aspect which I had not yet experienced as the Manager on Duty. With this promotion, I learned a lot about restaurant management beyond the day-to-day operations; instead, I was offered the opportunity to learn and try new promotions, partake in the hiring and training process, look into business financials, and so much more.

Coaching a volleyball team has always been my favorite way to give back to the community and young athletes. I've loved the opportunity to meet new people and play such a key role in raising the community's youth. As an athlete, myself, I believe that sports are a great way to teach an individual hard work and team work -- two vital pieces to any successful businessperson. When organizing practice plans and guiding the players through tournaments, I focus on pushing my players to their limits, I work to grow their competitive spirit, and I emphasize the role of a positive attitude and good sportsmanship throughout.
