Emergency Medical Technician

I have been a dedicated part-time employee of Mission Ambulance for the past 3 years as an Emergency Medical Technician. I provided safe patient care and transportation during the height of COVID. Every shift I maintain the condition of the ambulance with safety checks and restock medical equipment according to county protocols. On average I complete 4 to 5 patient interfacility transfers each shift. I have performed care at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level and assisted nurses at the Critical Care Transport (CCT) level. At the BLS level, I have provided direct medical care by obtaining vital signs, documenting patient assessments, and applying interventions within my scope of practice such as oxygen administration and monitoring lines, drains, and airways during transportation. At the CCT level, I have worked closely with nurses, assisting with setting up cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators, and IV pumps all on one gurney and providing safe and quality transportation for these unique cases.
