During my time with Bayer, I assisted the agronomists in yield development trials for Canola. My responsibilities included seed bed prep; spraying burn off, first and second application; seeding; rogueing; tilling; swathing as well as managing rogueing crews that assisted us during June and July. For three summers, I was employed by Camrose County on the Agricultural Service Board Spray Crew, during my time there I was in charge of not only applying herbicides but also advising county residents on what herbicides they should use. As well, I also assisted in cereal and pea plot trials, as a part of the Battle River Research Station, and assisted in tree planting shelter belts as part of the PFRA shelterbelt program.
