Often, I would communicate with probation officers, doctors, therapists and family members to facilitate coordination of care for the client. In the absence of a well developed system of support withing the recovery community I would facilitate development through transporting to meetings, providing written/reading material and share opportunities to engage with the recovering community in the area. General duties included supervising self-administered medications, PBT/UDS testing and administering measures for progress and daily measures for accountability. Often, I transported clients to doctor appointments, job interviews, probation reviews and meetings while providing support and encouragement. Availability to family members provided opportunity for education, mediation, support and referral to outside services that address the special needs they have as a result of their loved one's illness and continuing recovery.
