I desired further waitressing experience thus my company so kindly allowed me to transition from hosting to a floortender position. While in this role I utilized my extensive menu knowledge to guide guests through our options while also making them aware of the present deals and events we had to offer. I expertly navigated allergens and food preferences, making the appropriate recommendations while never forgetting to upsell where possible. Due to the nature of my work environment, I was kept busy. If it wasn’t ensuring glasses were kept full during our bottomless brunches, I also had the responsibility of serving drinks to booking with deposits up until 3am, sometimes while managing a private reservation of up 20 guests. Being the first point of contact for our guests, I ensure they are met with the warmest of welcomes and assert that I will diligently answer any questions they may have. I pride myself on staying organized and accommodating for the unexpected regarding our reservations, pre-orders and eating requirements, as well as prioritizing our guest’ comfort regarding their seating arrangements. My work environment is very lively and often filled to the brim with merry and intoxicated guest, therefore it is necessary that my communication is clear and precise between both colleagues and guest alike to ensure service is efficient and as there are many hazards in such an environment to account for. Moreover, a balance must be found between being assertive and jovial with our guests and I am never too shy to strike up a conversation. Show less

While in this position, I was able to provide reliable customer service while developing both a strong work ethic and relationships with our regulars and my colleagues. Working in such a fast-paced environment strengthened my time management as well as my resilience in being able to perfectly juggle all the tables I was given. Similarly, I pride myself on being able to deliver a strong presentation when selling menu items which involved going out of my way to stay well informed on the latest menu adaptations so that I can provide guests with informed recommendation. This helps me personalize their experience which I find pushes my customers to want to return. I am adept in confidently managing complaints with grace and patience as I have refined my ability to handle disgruntle guests. Overall, I was able to stay self-motivated and proactive which I deem to be essential traits to have I this line of work. Show less

: I had the privilege of being recruited for the launch of Cubitt House Group’s latest branch where I was second to the Maître D’hôtel. I not only served as welcoming smile, ready to urge in, seat and sedulously tend to our guests’ dining needs but was also graced with the task of managing the four beautiful hotel rooms that lay rest just above the restaurant. As a result, I have experience dealing with hotel booking systems such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Expedia Partner Central, Booking.com and Ezee Absolute as well as the well-known restaurant systems such as OpenTable and Lightspeed. My role involved an abundance of admin work with there being something new to challenge me every day. Due to the affluent community that surrounded The Princess Royal, only the best was expected thus, rigorous training was put in place to enforce this. Moreover, as the establishment was both a restaurant that prided itself on fine dining and a pub where the locals would often waltz in for casual drink, I experienced the best of both worlds. I’ve been lucky enough to have served many high-profile guests, critics and staples in the world of hospitality such as the likes of Jeremy King, Chef Pierre Koffmann, Fay Maschler and more but I have also formed many meaningful relationships with the regulars and locals who’s names I will never forget. Warmly greeting and efficiently communicating with new and returning customers while simultaneously developing relationships resulting in customer loyalty, seating an array of customers, all with different personalized requirements at an establishment that often saw over 700 covers, planning ahead 2 to anticipate the seating requirements of customers to ensure their comfort, often running the book and training as well as assigning roles and tasks to new colleagues, answering queries and providing solutions to customer complaints while on the floor, on the phone and at the desk to ensure full customer satisfaction, maintaining an organized and clean work environment to enforce health and safety, aiding in taking payment or running drinks and food when seeing fellow colleagues overwhelmed to maintain seamless customer service Show less
