Not many people have startup experience like Alvin does and that is very undervalued for some reason. I would take someone with true startup experience like Alvin over anyone corporate or even anyone from a well funded startup. You find out much about someone when resources are scarce. Alvin was solid.

Demonstrated product strategy and leadership in managing multiple product functions with Scrum and Agile methodologies as the backbone to successfully launching the WeLucy mobile wallet, achieving a rapid user adoption of 5,000 active users within 12 months with minimal marketing efforts. Led end-to-end product management responsibilities, including product road mapping, design flow implementation, UI/UX testing and execution, collaborating extensively with engineering teams, A/B Testing, product quality testing, fraud detection AI for facial recognition and text detection and other aspects to create a secure, user-centric product with a visually appealing and smooth interface that ensured a seamless customer experience. Led the product management for Lucy for a Monetary Authority of Singapore's Financial Sector Technology and Innovation (FSTI) POC that involved multiple stakeholders - Visa, INFITX and Thitsaworks - in delivering a proof-of-concept (POC) for Inclusive Cross-Border Remittances that demonstrated tremendous market potential. Through strategic stakeholder management, I facilitated fruitful collaborations, ensuring all parties were engaged, informed, and working towards a shared vision to deliver a POC which could be made market ready with only a few minor adjustments. Translated customer needs and market trends into practical solutions to build products that are cost friendly enough to be purchased by Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and scalable and robust enough to be used by MNCs. Was the main engineer in charge of development of EasiPlanner, an intra-city capacity planning and routing application. With a deep understanding of logistical challenges after meeting with key stakeholders, I was part of a cross-functional team to create an innovative solution that optimizes resource allocation, enhances operational efficiency, and enabled seamless routing within the city and urban areas based on customer input, big data and machine learning algorithms which considered factors unique to the urban environment in Singapore. Led the development of Haulier Performance Dashboard, a built from scratch intelligence dashboard product that leveraged historical and as-live-as-possible big data to visualize and ascertain container and freight forwarder backlogs at various critical locations, including depots, warehouses, and ports. By aggregating and visualizing this data, stakeholders can quickly identify bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and make informed decisions to improve their backlogs efficiently. Show less

During my internship at Google, I had the opportunity to work on various projects, with my primary focus being on creating a demo for the Google Search Appliance (GSA). The key features of this demo included seamless integration with other Google technologies, such as Maps, Charts, and App Engine, to provide users with a comprehensive and efficient search experience. To cater to the diverse needs of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries, I successfully implemented internationalization (I18N) of the stylesheets, ensuring that the GSA's interface was localized and compatible with APAC countries' requirements. I also contributed to the modernization of the GSA's UI/UX by revamping the stylesheets, resulting in improved readability and a more contemporary look and feel for the users. Recognizing the importance of mobile devices, I prioritized making the GSA UI/UX mobile-friendly, optimizing it for seamless usage on smartphones and tablets. In addition to my primary project, I was involved in the development of the Enterprise APAC Demo Consolidation Website. This project encompassed various responsibilities, including gathering user requirements, consolidating the best-of-breed demos for APAC on Google Sites, and collaborating with Sales Engineers across APAC to showcase their top demos. To enhance user engagement and ease of navigation, I designed and built a mobile-friendly and intuitive site on Google Sites, ensuring that users could access the demos effortlessly and find the information they needed efficiently. Overall, my internship at Google provided me with valuable experience in creating demos for the Google Search Appliance, integrating Google technologies, implementing internationalization, modernizing UI/UX, and building mobile-friendly websites. During my internship at CIMB, I worked on several projects, with my primary focus being on the development and deployment of a Liferay portal for internal use. The key highlights of this project include: I took the initiative to heavily modify the UI/UX of the portal, tailoring it specifically for internal usage, ensuring a user-friendly experience and improved productivity for the employees. In order to gather user requirements effectively, I collaborated with different branches, understanding their specific needs and incorporating them into the portal design. Additionally, I implemented Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality, granting different access rights to the portal based on the respective SSOs. Furthermore, I successfully deployed the portal on Apache Tomcat 6, ensuring smooth and efficient access for the users. In addition to my primary project, I also undertook the following tasks: I developed a macro that optimized the efficiency of processing financial information related to housing loans. This macro significantly improved the speed and accuracy of data processing, enhancing overall business efficiency. I conducted supplier evaluation activities, assessing and analyzing potential vendors based on predefined criteria. This evaluation process helped in making informed decisions regarding supplier selection. Additionally, I contributed to server hardening efforts, implementing security measures and best practices to enhance the security and stability of the servers, mitigating potential risks. Overall, my internship at CIMB provided me with valuable experience in Liferay portal development and deployment, user requirement gathering, UI/UX modification, macro development for business efficiency, supplier evaluation, and server hardening.
