Paula Margozzini.I have been involved full time since the initial phase, working in the design of the questionnaire and the measures included in the NHS 2016-2017, training the field personnel (Interviewers and nurses) for the application of the survey and also to the laboratory teams of the public hospitals supporting the processing of biosamples. I am also coordinating and generating the reports to the Ministry of Health (methodological report, pilot report, among others) and coordinating the creation of SPSS syntaxes for the 60 topics included in NHS 2016-2017.

Director Dr Catterina Ferreccio.MAUCO is the core project of the recently established Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases (ACCDiS). Universidad de Chile & Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, supported by the Fund for Research Centers in Priority Areas Program (FONDAP) of the Chilean National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT). MAUCO is the biggest epidemiological study in Chile who’s aim is to enrol n=10,000 participants and follow them over 10 years to analyze the natural history of chronic diseases in the agricultural county of Molina.I have been involved in this research full-time since the initial phase, working on the designs of tools for assessing the basal status regarding to cardiovascular morbidity and some habits (as tobacco use or alcohol consumption), on the startup of the Research center in Molina, on the work field personnel recruitment and their training for the whole process, designing the system for recruitment of participants and the online map platform, Census supervision and permanent coordination with the authorities from the Molina’s Hospital, Municipality and community groups. I supervised the interviews and the clinical assessment of the first 2,000 participants recruited. Also, I worked in data management and preliminary analysis of data quality.

      Technical support in the secondary analyses based on data from the National Health Surveys (NHS) 2003 and 2010, and other databases with emphasis on drug databases and chronic diseases/ Public Health Department, Faculty of Medicine, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile /Santiago, Chile. I worked on the development and validation of the drug database from the NHS 2010. This drug database contains the 8,824 medicines in use by the 5,412 adults who participated at NHS 2010. All these products were transformed into 428 different types of ATC-WHO codes for the actives principles included in those medicines.I worked on the statistical analysis, bibliographic search and report writing of seven Ministry of Health biddings, derived from the whole NHS database (morbidity, exam results, risk factors, drugs in use).
