Develop and foster a college going culture; ensuring students are college ready and ultimately successful, post high school. I coordinate opportunities for students and parents to become familiar with the college process such as holding workshops for application help, financial aid literacy, and career exploration; build partnerships with military and university recruiters; and provide interview, resume, and internships for career assistance. Assist with the expansion of dual enrollment by simplifying the enrollment process for high school students and maintain relationships with partnered districts, parents, and students. I recruit students into dual enrollment courses and assist them through matriculation: applying, introducing them to dual enrollment, informing them about their new student expectations, and enrolling. Review current institutional practices to create equitable opportunities in curriculum and student services for high school students. My goal is to assist high school students’ transition to college. Therefore, I assist the Cerritos Complete Promise Program through events such as the enrollment process at the Cerritos Complete Promise Program Enrollment Event.

Advocated for a caseload of 127 first-year students; some who are academically unprepared, honors students, undocumented, and overall culturally diverse. I met students on a one-on-one basis to assist them in fostering successful student habits as they progressed through their first year in college based on their special needs, abilities, talents, and interest. I mentored students through adjusting to the campus culture while focusing on career and major development. I provided appropriate guidance and support that will encourage students to maximize their educational and social potential.
