  As the teacher librarian at Korematsu Middle School for eight years, I promoted literacy in many ways. I collaborated with classroom teachers in all departments to lesson plan and co-teach embedded information literacy skills for student projects. I promoted literacy through special projects such as Battle of the Books, Reading Without Walls, and field trips tied to novels and reading goals. I also pioneered a flexible reader's advisory model that increased circulation and student reading. I was also responsible for library collection development and technology management in the library.
