  I completed both externship placements at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. During my time at RWJ Somerset, I evaluated and treated speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, tracheostomy, and swallowing disorders in adult and pediatric patients with a variety of complex medical diagnoses and etiologies. These included stroke, head and neck cancer, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), dementia, and speech/language delays. I independently completed modified barium swallow studies as well as observed fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing in order to determine presence of dysphagia. Show less
