Currently working as a cocktail waitress. I love the fast paced environment, and being active at work. I enjoy interacting with locals, and people from out of town. I get to inform them about the sport of pickleball, encourage them to try our specialty cocktails and ever changing beers, and talk up our delicious and all local food! I nannied 3 children ages 6, 4, and 3 months. I would take them to and from school, set up activities for them after school, and play/care for the baby during the day. We did not watch more than an hour of TV per day. I ensured the children were safe, engaged in play, and fed well! Helped the family with some cleaning duties, and occasional errand running as well. Me and the family agreed on a short term position, as to get us both through a season! I nannied 3 children ages 6, 4, and 3 months. Completed my CTRS 560-hour internship with KidsTLC from May 2017-September 2017. This included shadowing the existing Recreation Therapist in the residential program, documenting client progress in groups, creating and leading my own groups, and co-directing the summer program that the Recreation Therapist set in place for the summer. October 2017-May 2018; Direct Care Staff on the Willow Unit. Worked with adolescent clients aged 12-15. I worked on the 2-10 shift, would assist clients in their activities of daily living, create a daily schedule, lead groups, arts and crafts, games, and other activities to keep the clients engaged. Assisted clients in their mental health crisis' as well. May 2018-September 2019; Community Care Coordinator on the Transformers Unit. In this position, I worked closely with the unit therapists to document clients' progress. I would assist in client intake, plan of care meetings, and discharge for every client on the unit. Ensured clients had appropriate hygiene products and clothing available on the unit. Talked with parents, social workers, unit staff, and insurance on their concerns, and questions on client progress. September 2019-November 2020 Recreation Therapist. Created and led age-appropriate, engaging groups for all of the residential units. Documented client behaviors in every group session. Arts and crafts, games, sports, music groups, etc. Co-led new hire group training every 2 weeks. Participated in unit rounds meetings, CQI meetings, advocated and created more playground and campus-wide activities. Once COVID-19 began to spike, I collaborated with another Recreation Therapist on campus to create a consecutive 23-week summer program to keep clients engaged, connected to their treatment, and safe. This included school groups, gym class games, and virtual assemblies to connect clients that were quarantined from each other. Created holiday packets to help staff keep clients engaged on holiday weekends.
