As one of three Owners of Bay Lights Charters, I am responsible for Sales and Marketing for our 72' Schooner Gas Light as well as growing the business. Business Development is achieved not just by hosting more Charters and reaching more Event Planners, but also thru adding boats to the fleet and procuring new types of Clients. Whether it's a Team-Building exercise for companies such as Google or an intimate gathering for a special occasion, I help create the environment to fulfill a Clients needs and wishes. As an Owner, I do everything from hosting the bar, choosing the food to hoisting the sails! My skills include, but are not limited to: a passion for all things maritime, provisioning a boat, abiding by Coast Guard Rules and Regulations, knowledge and certification of basic sailing skills (see certifications below), prep for Charters, arrange catering, interpersonal skills, hospitality, communication, booking, entertainment, curate visuals from Charters using my photography skills, creation of YouTube Playlists for BLC, creation of promotional newsletters and swag for BLC and more. With over 1,500 Weddings under my belt as a former Wedding Photographer on the beaches of the East Coast, I utilize that skill set today for our promotional materials, social media and photos for Clients as well as our own company.

I was recruited to head the new Jeanneau dealership in Northern California and Mexico. As one of the biggest boatbuilders worldwide, it was an opportunity that not only was perfect timing but a dream come true! I was responsible for attending national Boat Shows and representing Jeanneau for both power and sailboats, new and used. My job was to learn the boats inside out so I could easily give potential Buyers a guided tour on all features and benefits. It was with this skillset that in just a few months, I sold over 6 boats. I achieved this thru my marketing prowess of our existing database and relentless follow-up. Other responsibilities included, but are not limited to: building the website, designing the workflow, lead gen, client follow-up and negotiating and closing the deal. I was also required to learn the tax benefits of selling a boat and then putting it in a charter fleet with Club Nautique both in San Francisco and Puerto Vallarta. Delivering boats was also part of my job and I made several trips down the coast of California.

As First Mate of the "Hawks Nest" Sailing Charter which operated out "The Cove at Tiburon", I was responsible for bookings, hospitality, sales, marketing, web design, provisioning a boat, interpersonal skills, communication with Clients, catering needs and creating the environment that our Clients were seeking. My job was also to abide by Coast Guard Rules and Regulations, sailing safety and ultimately the enjoyment for the multitudes of Guests that came aboard our Hunter 41 sailboat out on the San Francisco Bay.

Owner and primary photographer for both weddings and family portraits. After settling into life on Outer Banks, I created Island Photography. The OBX, as the locals call it, is one of the top destinations for weddings in the United States. Believe it or not! I quickly found myself busy with wedding photography, as well as family beach portraits. I was fortunate enough to meet some amazing families and capture their images on their yearly family vacation. As the Outer Banks wedding season lasts about seven months of the year, so I was fortunate enough to embark on an annual sailing trip to the Caribbean. This allowed me to pursue my other passion, sailing. I will forever be grateful for this chapter, it taught me to look for LOVE. Capture the moments that matter and share them. I truly believe this helped mold me into the positive person I am today. To quote the Beatles, "All you need is LOVE!"

I created 'Candids by Allie' was born when my own wedding photos were not as great as they good be. I knew I could do it better so I created my own company. My focus (PUN INTENDED) was to surpass the competition in both level of service and quality of the finished product. Before I knew it, I had captured images for more than 800 weddings in the San Diego area. Candids by Allie was a staple in the wedding market. I was featured on countless magazines, on the preferred vendor list at The Hotel Del Coronado, La Valencia and many more. With not one unhappy customer in over 8 years, I loved getting to know my clients and capture their events with passion. In 2005, family brought me to the Outer Banks of North Carolina so I sold 'Candids by Allie' to Justin & Trisha Duva, former clients and friends to this day. They continue to shoot in San Diego.
