The chief fire direction computer is the technical expert and trainer in the FDC (Fired Direction Center). He ensures that all equipment is on hand and operational, supervises computation of all data, ensures that all appropriate records are maintained, and helps the FDO (Fire Direction Officer) as needed. My duties revolved around installing and troubleshooting Charter’s cable services including internet, telephone, and video. Specific issues I worked on, on a daily basis ranged from TCP/IP resolution, wireless router installation and problem resolution, and personal computer internet connection support to RF (radio frequency) troubleshooting and educating each Charter customer on the proper operation of their services.
