We all have more we want to learn than we possibly have time for. This means we miss out on important, possibly life-changing ideas. What if you could learn everything you wanted, faster and better? Our mission is to teach the world’s best ideas and make them more accessible. Our goal is to summarize and contextualize every meaningful idea published everyday, in every form of media (including books, articles, podcasts, and videos). This means you’d be able to: + look up a news item or issue you care about and understand every important viewpoint on it, across every political and ideological spectrum + explore your favorite ideas to see how they’ve been taught by world experts throughout history + make new insights connecting ideas in one book to ideas in other books, building up a rich latticework of ideas in your mind Check us out at Shortform.com and contact me if this sounds like something you’d like to work on. We're especially looking for writers, growth marketers, full-stack engineers, and product managers. Show less

We make education more effective at scale through technology. Our programs learn the strengths and weaknesses of learners and create tailored learning programs—think of it like turning the best human tutor into an automated platform. We combine content, customization, and behavioral design to build a great educational experience. Currently focused on private education, test preparation, and college admissions. We also published thousands of free guides that help millions of families do better in high school and get into college. PrepScholar is bootstrapped and happily profitable. I co-founded the company and led product, engineering, and content marketing, among wearing many other hats. I'm no longer active in day-to-day management but still support our awesome team. PhD research in synthetic biology with Timothy K Lu. Invented CombiGEM (Combinatorial Genetics en Masse) technology to improve genetic screening scale by 2+ orders of magnitude; CombiGEM has been applied to antibacterial resistance, chemotherapy resistance, CRISPR screening. Also ran projects in biomaterials, chemotherapy resistance, synthetic biological circuits, and metabolic engineering. I learned how much I love building and engineering things, beyond uncovering the natural world through science. Show less

Discovery of small molecule inhibitors of histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzymes using a variety of high-throughput screening technologies. HDAC inhibitors are used for psychiatric treatments. Gained appreciation for the insane work it takes in pharma to find the one small molecule that works.
