  Allan is the former Executive Director and Executive Director Emeritus of the TBA from 1998 to 2018 . In that role Allan assisted the TBA Board of Governors, House of Delegates, committees and sections in developing and implementing policy. He has a bachelor of arts in political science from Lambuth University and a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. He was with the Tennessee Association of Legal Services for seven years and was executive director of the Nashville Bar Association for 12 years. In the Executive Director Emeritus role, I continued to actively direct the TBA governmental affairs program for the 2017 and 2018 legislative sessions sessions. I remained in this role until June 30,2018 when I left the association.
