    • Tech Manager
      • Jun 2016 - Present

I have been working with Byte Camp for 3 years and was promoted from Lead Instructor to Tech Manager in March 2018. I now maintain and manage 400 computers for Byte Camp configuring them every year for the summer and handle any tech problems while our camps are running. Our systems run dualboot windows and linux so I maintain both sides, making sure all applications we use run properly. I handle all of the imaging every year with 6 different models of Thinkpads. I started as a co-op and they kept me on after the end of my co-op contract (Sept. 2nd 2016). I bring my talents in leadership, writing, story-boarding, games and activities and share these with a wide range of children and youth. I help youth develop a sense of commitment to community, well being and resilience through use of activities, games and design / film work. During the summer I lead with an assistant instructor and work with a well-developed course outline to lead groups of up to 12 kids, in the following topics each week: 2D Graphics & Game Design and Apps for tablet or cell-phones. This position involves having knowledge of great outside games to play with the kids everyday as we spend about 3 hours outside to make sure the kids are still being healthy. I use my knowledge of computer science and coding to help teach the kids in a way that they understand. During the school year I teach after school programs and advanced coding sessions involving webpage design, 2D video games, and "Code your own adventure".

    • Weekend Shift Supervisor
      • Sep 2016 - Jun 2017

I make sure to get all staff to the right venues on time and prepared for the day, driving a company vehicle. If needed I jump in to help with the parties and make sure staff are being attentive. I work in the office once a week preparing everything needed for the weekend. I also run parties on my own occasionally when we are short staffed, which involves working with parents and children to make sure the party runs smoothly and that they are pleased with the service. Generally a party involves supervision of a bouncy castle, face painting, and balloon twisting, sometimes they also involve parachute games.
