Chartering Manager - responsible for the overall chartering activities of the Company including two Panamax Product Tankers and one Medium Range Product Tanker trading in the spot market. In addition I have responsibility for a further two product tankers currently on Time Charter. I report directly to ENOC senior management with full authority for negotiating and fixing tonnage. In addition to the foregoing commercial activities, and, as a member of a small team, engaged in the technical operation and crewing activities of the fleet, I am responsible for investigating and submitting claims for demurrage, bunker purchases, appointment of agents and liaison with Owner’s Protection and Indemnity Club. I also have been responsible for inviting Oilco’s for Ship Vetting and am responsible for maintaining the SIRE reports on database and updating SIRE with changes in vessel details. Responsible for ensuring that Owner obligation under the terms of the Charter Party as well as Cargo Interests’ requirements under any particular voyage instructions are adhered to. These may include but would not be limited to such matters as cargo heating and other product quality requirements, pumping and loading and discharge operations, co-operation with cargo surveyors and other obligations under the terms of a Bill of Lading including Letters of Credit and clearance to discharge under various guarantees. Handling enquiries on behalf of Emirates National Oil Company for chartering in tonnage, particularly Naphtha movements form Ag/India. Responsible for preparation of invoices and tracking of Freight Payments along with detailed budgetary input for Finance, all purchasing is processed using ORACLE and familiarity has been gained with this system.
