I manage a team of mentors in a middle school setting where we focus on at risk students struggling with academics, behavior, attandance or social emotions issues. I have developed both the program structure and policies for the 2020-2021 school year for our program. Aside from managing my team of mentors and their caseloads, I also have a caseload of students I mentor and help foster positive behaviors and academic progression. I attend weekly MTSS meetings with the school admin and create intervention plans with the school team and help implement them. I have also spoken about our program at city hall meetings, prepared and delivered presentations for program funding meetings, as well as spoke on NPR about our program and the benefits it has on our community and students.
