    • Health Champion
      • Aug 2012 - Nov 2012

Currently volunteering as a Health Champion in Sheffield at a community allotment in the Firth Park. My main aim is to provide a positive environment where both adults and children are exposed to own-grown produce and alongside this to promote health by encouraging home made meals and snacks. By incorporating a theme each week the ‘health’ subject is merged with fun activities encouraging children to become more involved in their food choices thus empowering control over their own health. I hope to break down parents’ barriers to cooking from scratch through informative sessions on varieties of fruit and vegetables and how to prepare and cook. Gaining further knowledge of community development projects across the city and plan to develop courses to fulfill demands in specific areas.
