Working in Early Intervention in Psychosis as a care co-ordinator. Supporting adults 18-35 experiencing a psychotic illness. Supporting recovery using a bio-psychosocial model. I was able to focus working with parents experiencing psychosis. Supporting the adult and their family in order to focus on recovery. I set up groups supporting young people with recovery, including a Women's Group a Mindfulness Group and a Safer Relationships group. Lots of liaison with Health Visiting, GPs and Perinatal Mental Health. Myself and a psychiatrist developed an educational leaflet on planning pregnancy in order to facilitate discussions with patients around planning pregnancy and the impact of medication on pregnancy and the unborn child. The aim was to support women to make informed decisions. We had noticed that until this point these discussions with young women were not empowering. Show less
