  Recruited to establish an in house legal function. Responsible for assessing the business's requirements, designing the function and then recruiting and bedding in the team. Since November 2013, assumed the responsibility for the regulatory team tasked with identifying and embedding regulatory change. I also have global asset management responsibility and represent the legal function in global distribution. Responsible for the provision of legal advice to all areas of Kames business including major strategic initiatives, investment management agreements, derivatives, outsourcing contracts, custody agreements, contractual disputes, product development, litigation, distribution agreements, IT contracts, HR legal issues and intra-group agreements.Key highlights:- Leading an AAM-wide renegotiation with Citi across various different services (including fund accounting, middle office, custody, depositary and various ancillary services) and various business units.- Project sponsor for a number of key regulatory projects such as Mifid II, GDPR, SFTR, EMIR and PRIPS. - Overseas distribution including distribution in Asia for Kames and the US and NL AEGON operations. Kames distribution in Europe and interaction with various regulators including the FCA, Jersey, the Central Bank of Ireland and various European and Asian regulators. - the rebranding of Kames from AEGON including the trademark searches and updating all product ranges and legal entities- Major outsourcing contracts – including transfer agency outsourcing and back office outsourcing.- established a number of practice groups where knowledge is shared across the AAM group. Member of the various governance fora of Kames including the Board audit and risk committee, the executive risk committee, the strategic executive and product development committees.
