My team monitors compliance with the Retail Electricity Code, and concurrent obligations under the Australian Consumer Law, working closely with the ACCC’s Enforcement Division. We examine competition and consumer issues and report to the Treasurer as part of the ACCC's Electricity Market Monitoring Inquiry 2018 - 2025.

I represented the ACCC as Co-Chair of the International Competition Network (ICN) special project on the intersection of privacy, competition and consumer law and supported the Chair, Commissioners and Executive General Manager with briefings, speeches and submissions for the OECD competition meetings, ICN annual conference, international cartel workshop and Fordham global antitrust conference. This role required a high level command of the ACCC's competition mandate, coupled with a sophisticated approach to relationship management, stakeholder engagement and international cooperation. I co-authored an article on international cooperation fixing problems in digital markets and was principal author of the ACCC's submissions on: - competition in energy markets for the OECD competition meetings in December 2022. - purchasing power and buyers cartels for the OECD competition meetings in June 2022. Implemented the novel use of information disclosure provisions by demonstrating pro-competitive effects - enabling the ACCC's first ever mobile infrastructure report to be made publicly available.Advocated for changes to the Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code and other consumer codes, to capture and address ACCC enforcement experience and outcomes - resulting in stronger consumer protections for mobile premium services, in app purchases and financial hardship policies and procedures.
